How this affects our recommendations

It doesn’t — and here’s the check you can run yourself: our gear recommendations are built around payback math (how many pounds of scrap until the tool pays for itself), which we show openly in the calculators. If a cheaper tool wins the math, we say so, commission or not. We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and sponsored placements (if we ever run them) will be labeled as such.
